PBA has been in the news again, with their report ‘The Impact of Car Share Services in Australia’ quoted in a recent Sydney Morning Herald article.
The report was commissioned by the International Carsharing Association to understand the impact of car sharing services after a dozen years of operation in Australia.
The PBA report is available here.
If you already think peak hour is bad in Melbourne, imagine another 800,000 vehicles on the roads in the next 10 years.
This is, on average, another 25,000 cars in your local municipality alone – an entire Melbourne Airport car park driving around your local streets. For some of us, it will be three airport car park’s worth.
Harry Barber, expert advisor on car sharing at PBA, has just released his ebook 3 Million Cars, about the future of the car in Melbourne.
Written to help local councils to plan for the expected growth of motorisation, the ebook is a must-read for anyone interested in the rise and rise of the car. It will help inform public debate and assist councils to set strategies to deal with the expected 35% increase in car use in Melbourne to 2026.
The booklet is available on iPads, iPhones and Macs from iTunes: iTunes
